Expressions of Interest in Proposing Challenges to Groups of Students in the Context of Project NODES - Spoke 2 The notice is aimed at collectingexpressions of interest from companies wishing to join the initiative as proposing subjects, formulating technological and/or social challenges that are collected and selected by the NODES Ecosystem universities on the basis of shared criteria. Students will then be involved in innovative teaching paths, tackling and developing new ideas in response to the challenges and, last but not least, proposing innovative projects and solutions. The objective is twofold: on the one hand, to offer students the opportunity to interact with the corporate world, public bodies, associations and third-sector organisations of the NODES project territories through the "learning by doing" method and, on the other hand, to provide an opportunity for companies and other proposing parties to meet young talents and discover innovative solutions that can be applied within their realities. Who can participate Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MPMI) and Large Enterprises (GI) as well as Local Authorities, Public Bodies, Associations and Third Sector entities, based in one of the NODES project territories (Piedmont, Val D'Aosta, Provinces of Como, Varese, Pavia). Eligible Initiatives The Challenges must be coherent in terms of spillovers and impacts of the results with the research and innovation themes indicated by Spoke 2 with the smart specialisation strategy (S3) of the regions involved, as well as with the specialisation area "digital, industry, aerospace" of the NODES Innovation Ecosystem NRP. Proposing entities are invited to fill in the Expression of Interest according to the indications and forms indicated here. The selected challenges will be submitted to groups of Master's degree students who, included in multidisciplinary teams and supported by academic tutors and mentors from the proposing subject, will design innovative solutions and then present them to the company/body that promoted them. Challenges Challenge proposals should relate to the research and innovation themes proposed by Spoke 2, whose objective is to implement and apply the Circular Economy to industrial system processes, in order to stimulate green and sustainable production. Timing Expressions of Interest can be submitted from 27 April 2023 until 9 June 2023. Expressions of Interest in co-designing industrial PhD pathways - Spoke 2 UPDATE - 30.06.2023 The ranking list of proposals received is available   The notice is aimed at collecting expressions of interest from enterprises wishing to promote the activation of no. 7 Research Doctorates consistent with their innovation and research needs, with the research and innovation themes indicated by Spoke no. 2, with the smart specialisation strategy (S3) of the regions involved, as well as with the specialisation area "digital, industry, aerospace" of the NODES Innovation Ecosystem. The total resources of EUR 339,865.43 to fund 7 doctoral scholarships, from NODES' PNRR funds, will therefore be allocated to projects proposed by companies, applied to their economic sector, and aimed at carrying out joint research activities with the university, within the framework of doctoral programmes that will be specifically activated.   Who can participate Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MPMI) and Large Enterprises (GI) based in one of the NODES project territories (Piedmont, Val D'Aosta, Provinces of Como, Varese, Pavia). Support for industrial research and experimental development projects The project proposals submitted by the companies must be consistent with the research and innovation themes of the Spoke and the smart specialisation strategy (S3) of the regions involved. The total budget is EUR 3,130,000, from the PNRR funds of NODES   Who can participate Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) on a stand-alone or collaborative basis with other enterprises and Large Enterprises (MGs) on a collaborative basis only. Economic and financial sustainability: economic and capital requirements and financial sustainability will be verified on the last closed and approved balance sheet. Eligible Initiatives The projects submitted must be between EUR 150,000 (EUR 300,000 if a Large Enterprise is present) and EUR 1,000,000, have a maximum duration of 18 months and be implemented in the Ecosistema NODES territory - including the Piedmont Region, the Aosta Valley Region and the provinces of Como, Pavia and Varese.    Facilitation Non-repayable grant, the maximum intensity of which is calculated on the basis of the size of the enterprise, the field of activity and whether the project is a joint one.   Challenges Project proposals should relate to the research and innovation themes proposed by Spoke 2, whose objective is to implement and apply the Circular Economy to industrial system processes, in order to foster green and sustainable production.   Timing Applications for funding may be submitted from 12 April 2023 in the windows established by the call for proposals. The applications for funding requested by companies concern investment paths in innovation in the Spoke area with the acquisition of advanced and qualified services identified in the "NODES Ecosystem Catalogue". The total budget is1,900,000 € from the NODES PNRR funds   Who can participate Micro, Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (MSMEs) individually. Large Enterprises are not eligible. Economic and financial sustainability: economic and capital requirements and financial sustainability will be verified on the last closed and approved balance sheet.   Eligible Initiatives The services presented must have an amount between EUR 15,000 and EUR 80,000, a maximum duration of 12 months and be carried out in the territory of Ecosystem NODES - including the Piedmont Region, the Aosta Valley Region and the provinces of Como, Pavia and Varese.   Facilitation Non-repayable grant of which the maximum intensity is 50% of eligible expenses, with a maximum grantable amount per individual beneficiary of EUR 60,000 that can be cumulated with several services financed under Line B alone.   Challenges The services will have to fall within the areas proposed by Spoke 2, which aims to implement and apply the Circular Economy to the processes of the industrial system, in order to stimulate green and sustainable production.   Timing Applications for funding may be submitted from 12 April 2023 in the windows established by the call for proposals. Supporting Proof of Concept (PoC) projects with a higher social and economic impact for the establishment of new businesses. Project proposals submitted by teams of researchers must be consistent with the research and innovation themes of the Spoke and the smart specialisation strategy (S3) of the regions involved. The total budget is EUR 1,080,747, from the PNRR funds of NODES.   Who can participate The proposing team is composed of at least three researchers, among whom the Project Manager is identified. The Team shall belong to a University promoting the Call for Proposals, and shall be a Spoke Subject or Spoke Affiliate.   Eligible Initiatives The projects submitted must be between EUR 50,000 and EUR 160,000, have a maximum duration of 14 months and be implemented within the universities affiliated to the Spoke.   Challenges Project proposals should relate to the research and innovation themes proposed by Spoke 2, whose objective is to implement and apply the Circular Economy to industrial system processes, in order to foster green and sustainable production.   Timing Applications may be submitted from 12 April 2023 in the windows established by the call. The objective is twofold: on the one hand, to offer students the opportunity to interact with the business world, public entities, associations, and third-sector entities in the territories of the NODES project through the "learning by doing" method, and on the other hand, to provide an opportunity for companies and other proposing entities to meet young talents and discover innovative solutions applicable within their realities. Who can participate Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) and Large Enterprises (LE) but also Local Authorities, Public Entities, Associations, and Third Sector Entities, based in one of the territories of the NODES project (Piedmont, Valle d'Aosta, Provinces of Como, Varese, Pavia). Eligible initiatives The Challenges must be consistent in terms of the impact and results with the research and innovation themes indicated by Spoke 4 with the Smart Specialization Strategy (S3) of the involved regions, as well as with the "digital, industry, aerospace" specialization area of the National Research Program (PNR) of the NODES Innovation Ecosystem. The proposing entities are invited to fill out the Expression of Interest according to the instructions and forms provided here. The challenges The Challenge proposals must concern the research and innovation topics proposed by Spoke 4, namely, support for activities in the field of remote working, the management of energy and water resources and infrastructure in mountainous environments, and participatory regeneration of mountain territories in the fields of tourism, environmental protection, climate risk management, the wood industry, transportation, and education. Timings The Expressions of Interest can be submitted from April 14, 2023, to May 15, 2023.
