Description

This course aims to provide participants skills and knowledge necessary to address the challenges of the dairy industry, based on the European farm-to-fork strategy. Topics such as animal welfare, the use of innovative technologies in precision agriculture, food safety, and environmental sustainability assessment will be covered. A portion of the course will focus on the transformation of dairy products and their nutritional quality, as well as psychological aspects related to the consumption of these products. Students will have the opportunity to interact with teachers and industry professionals, visit companies, and engage in practical activities.

The course program will take place at the University of Piacenza-Cremona, part of the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, and will be divided into four thematic areas. Frontal lectures will be supplemented by company visits and practical activities, totaling 40 hours of training. The modules will cover a wide range of topics, including emerging issues in dairy farming and production, sustainability of dairy production, food safety, and microbiology of dairy products, as well as nutritional and psychological aspects related to the consumption of milk and its derivatives.
