Workshop on local efficiency and waste enhancement to build a sustainable future.
The workshop, organised in the context of SPOKE 2 - NODES, aims at raising awareness, training and ensuring an active confrontation between sector experts, companies, local authorities, trade associations and citizens, towards issues related to local efficiency (circular cluster) in the use of products (or secondary raw materials) resulting from the valorisation of waste.
Themes related to the sustainable management and reuse/recovery/recycling of mineral waste (mining and quarry waste, construction and demolition waste, excavation waste, ceramic waste, ash from waste-to-energy plants, etc.), organic waste (OFMSW, sewage sludge, organic market and green maintenance waste, etc.) and waste of special interest (such as plastics and WEEE) will be addressed. These topics are fully covered in the GRIP flagship project of Spoke 2-NODES.
This course, open to all precisely in order to raise awareness and allow interaction between the various actors involved in the management of the waste in question, will train and update professionals from both PAs and companies, as well as students and citizens sensitive (and sensitised) to the importance of making efficient, effective and sustainable exploitation of the ‘waste-resource’.
The workshop will consist of two main parts: a frontal session with talks by academic experts, but also from industry and PAs, and an interactive session (active discussion, on the topics covered, between heterogeneous groups, by training and profession). This formula, already applied for the NOWRESROURCE 1.0 workshop, received very positive feedback from participants.
